News and Events

  • Verdura has been chosen as a vendor for one of the largest garden shows in the Pacific Northwest, the Clackamas County Master Gardeners Spring Garden Fair, to be held April 30 and May 1 at the Clackamas County Event Center in Canby. In addition to displaying one of our Mayan pyramid gardens planted with spring vegetables, we will offer plans for sale for garden frames, irrigation systems, trellises and nine different themed planting plans.

      Liz Nichols

We are delighted to have added gardener Liz Nichols to our staff. Liz (shown at right staking beans in one of our gardens), who went to college with our Boston compatriot Jessie Banhazl of Green City Growers, grew up in Waltham, MA and has worked on a farm and for landscaping companies prior to joining the Verdura team. An avid cyclist and runner, Liz loves Portland's outdoor-oriented lifestyle. She has also worked as a barista and makes a mean cappuccino! Liz is helping with maintenance as well as managing Verdura's extensive inventory of plant starts and seeds destined for clients' gardens.
